Hollyhocks, bicycles and proximity to the sea are the essence of the Île de Ré, albeit in a platitudinous nutshell.
The parasol mushrooms are earlier this year and are excellent when steeped in egg and pan-fried with seasoning and fresh parsley.
Fresh from an English garden and quite deliciously juicy!
