Enjoyable!

Monday

This took longer than it generally should on a Monday. LJ
One decidedly slow moment; otherwise fine.

Smoothly completed

Swiftly completed, unlike Saturday’s!

Satisfying

Testing, therefore satisfying!

A pleasure to complete

There were a few sneaky wordplays in this one. LJ
(“Nail file”, of course, not “nail bite”, as I hastily entered.)
A good challenge!

It took me longer than it should have done to get Peggotty, but it dawned on me in the end! LJ
Very enjoyable. I felt on good form!

A pleasant challenge!

Very pleasant and swiftly completed!

Pleasant enough, but I wasn’t at my sharpest initially.

Very enjoyable!

I couldn’t get charioteer initially, but having left it for a while, I found it came to me once on my picking the paper up again, a not uncommon phenomenon. LJ

One or two silly clues, but mostly enjoyable.

Pomade again!

A pleasant puzzle

Fairly straightforward, but satisfying all the same.

A decent challenge!

Spare tyre!!

Worth persevering with …

Hot dog! Quite pleasing.

Pleasing

A pleasant puzzle

Satisfying!

Segmentation

This one took a little thought …

Costmary; one or two discoveries here.

Completed very swiftly over a coffee

“Nitride”, a decent challenge.

A very satisfying puzzle.

Thank goodness for these puzzles. It is so satisfying to be challenged to unlock the recesses of the mind and rediscover there certain terms that are only vaguely familiar, yet somehow known and ready to surface. “Honest broker” is an example of this for me; it isn’t in my active vocabulary, yet is somehow subtly present. On a hot day, it is pleasant to take refuge from the force of the sun with a mug of tea and a few lexical challenges. I hadn’t heard of a “corncob”, a type of pipe, but worked it out and found it a charming discovery, I enjoyed this puzzle far more than yesterday’s. LJ
“Djibouti”. I didn’t get this, or “mild”, nor do I fully understand “editing”, though it was obviously the solution. All in all, a poor puzzle by comparison with most, notwithstanding my own shortcomings.

Turkey

A satisfying challenge

Smoothly executed, but I was left nauseous by the notion of a “teach in”

A pleasant Sunday’s occupation

Completed swiftly and smoothly

Swan up, persona non grata …

From quite which recess of the mind I recalled “helpmeet” eludes me, but I found it in the end. “Espalier” then fell into place. A pleasant puzzle. “Antitrade”…

Astarte

“Poplin”

Pleasant and straightforward, good for morale on a Monday morning

Perseverance paid off. Tricky.

Very enjoyable, after a slow start.

A pleasant puzzle

Tadpole

This looked fiendish at first glance, then, suddenly, it wasn’t.

A smooth experience (a torus resembles a doughnut) …
